“We are a community rooted in God’s radical love revealed in Christ Jesus. Therefore, we are deeply committed to racial equity and the full inclusion of people no matter their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression. Whatever your life story is, whatever you’re holding in your heart, whatever you think of organized religion, however you hold your politics, or any of the ways we like to divide ourselves... You are not just welcome but honored here..”

— Christ Lutheran Church Welcome Statement

What to expect…

We’re traditional… But not stuffy.

Rooted in the ancient church… And connected to the modern age.

Inclusive… With a deeply sacramental imagination.

We offer sacred Christian contemplative space that serves as a respite from the chaos of life in our accelerating world.

We seek to encounter the living God revealed in Jesus Christ who joins the human story and holds us in love. And we minister to each other in the way that Christ ministers to us.

About our Pastor…

The Rev. Jonas Ellison is a graduate of Wartburg Theological Seminary in Dubuque, IA. He grew up in the Roman Catholic Church and spent a couple of decades identifying as ‘spiritual-but-not-religious’ before coming back to the Christian faith as a Lutheran (it’s a long story, and you should totally ask him about it over coffee sometime). Pr. Jonas is a liturgy nerd and a long-time student of contemplative and mystical Christianity. He lives with his wife and daughter in Aptos, where he can often be found (intentionally) lost in The Forest of Nisene Marks.

Join Us

We gather every Sunday at 10:00 AM for Holy Eucharist (all are welcome to receive communion without exception).

This is not your run-of-the-mill "Bible Study." Rather, you're invited to come to this digital roundtable discussion with your own stories of life, loss, joy, sorrow, celebration, death, and resurrection that the weekly lectionary readings inspire in you…
